Can’t find a way to fit AI into your life? Try these ideas for everyday efficiency!

Hey AI Puppies,

It’s one thing to research, theorize, and talk about how AI can improve your life, but it’s another thing entirely to see its potential play out IRL.

Struggling to tangibly harness the power of AI?

First of all, don’t be too hard on yourself – Rome wasn’t built in a day, and puppies can’t train that quickly, either!

Second of all, we’re spending this week’s newsletter under an AI microscope to dissect its applications up close 🔬

Third of all, this mission just got even easier. This week, ChatGPT released six new updates focused on streamlining your use of the technology, including:

💪 Prompt and Reply suggestions

💪 Keyboard shortcuts

💪 ChatGPT-4 as the default setting for paid users

💪 Easier log-in

💪 Multiple file uploads

Ready for the inspo you’ve been missing? Let these updates be your sign that it’s time to start experimenting!

you, after today’s newsletter

Here are ten ChatGPT prompts you can start using today:

#1: Write the Email You’ve Been Dreading

No one gets through life (let alone a week or two) without putting off an email that only takes two seconds to send.

Next time the stress of stringing together the right words holds you back, here’s an example of a prompt to try:

“Write an apology email for a delayed response to my coworker that also apologies for a small mistake I made in a recent quarterly report”

Here’s what we got back:

#2: Find Keywords For Your Website

Keywords are simple in theory, yet actually quite complicated to compile. If you need some good ones for your next marketing endeavor, try a prompt like:

“Create a list of keywords to optimize our website for search engines”

We used the Apple store to test it out, and got this:

#3: Explain a complicated concept in a simpler context

Sometimes, the best learning happens when you’re spoken to like a grade school student. Instead of bugging your coworkers or mentor for an explanation, try something like this:

“Explain how the blockchain works in the context of making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich”

And got…

#4: Enhance Your Understanding of a Lesson

Maybe you understand a new concept perfectly well but want to understand the details from every angle.

Let’s use the example of a math problem. If you have your answer, but need to understand how you got there, try this:

“Solve this for me and explain each step in detail on how you solved it: A car starts from rest and accelerates uniformly over a time of 5.21 seconds for a distance of 110 m. Determine the acceleration of the car.”

We got:

#5: Plan a Trip

To plan a trip well enough to enjoy it when you get there, the devil’s in the details. Here are three prompts you can try:

  1. “Where should I get lunch and stop for a break on my road trip between Denver and Tucson”

  1. “I want you to act as a travel guide. I will write you my location, and you will suggest a place to visit near my location. In some cases, I will also give you the type of places I will visit. You will also suggest me places of a similar type that are close to my first location. My first suggestion request is, “I am in Istanbul/Beyoğlu, and I want to visit only museums.””

  1. “Where should I get happy hour drinks with my friends while at a bachelorette party in New York”

For that last one, we got:

#6: Get a Motivational Speech From Your Idol

Ever wondered what your hero would do if they were in your shoes? Next time you need a confidence boost, try a prompt like….

“Get me excited for my pitch meeting in the voice of David Ogilvy”

For this one, we got:

#7: Get Inspired For a Personal Change

There’s a lot of advice out there for every personal aspiration you can think of – need help cutting through the noise?

Try a prompt like this:

“Give me five simple ways to improve my productivity each day”

#8: Get Succinct Health and Fitness Advice

Need something more specific? For health and fitness goals, here are two to try:

  1. “As a personal fitness coach, create a workout plan for me that doesn’t involve going to the gym and focuses on strength training”

  2. “As a personal chef, suggest a healthy meal plan for the work week without chicken and with lots of fiber”

For the latter, we got:

#9: Simplify Better Budgeting

Budgeting doesn’t come naturally to everyone, especially those who struggle with math. If that sounds like you, try a prompt like this:

“In the voice of a financial advisor, generate a weekly budget plan for someone who makes $3000 a month in take home pay”

#10: Plan a Party!

Finally, a fun one: plan your next party with ease! Here’s an example and the results we got:

“Give me five unique ways to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday”
